Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Gary Player is widely regarded as one of the greatest golfers in history. Turning professional at just 17, he went on to amass 165 victories worldwide — including 24 PGA TOUR wins, 19 Champions Tour wins, and nine major championship titles spanning three Masters, two PGA Championships, one U.S. Open, and three Open Championships.
Player is the only golfer in history to complete the career Grand Slam on both the PGA TOUR and Champions Tour, and holds the record for most appearances at the Masters. A member of the inaugural 1974 World Golf Hall of Fame class, he has received the Laureus Lifetime Achievement Award and the PGA Tour's Lifetime Achievement Award — recognition befitting a man who has dedicated his life to the game.
Known the world over as "The Black Knight" for his trademark all-black attire, Player's alignment with PXG is a natural one. His uncompromising commitment to excellence and performance mirrors everything PXG stands for. As Player puts it: "PXG clubs are my tools of choice. They are simply remarkable."
Off the course, Player has designed more than 400 golf courses across the globe and authored over 36 books on instruction, fitness, and the philosophy of the game. A passionate philanthropist, he has spent decades working to grow the sport and support communities around the world.
